Rivian posts exciting "Back to the Future" teaser for Halloween
A recent teaser from Rivian suggests that R1 owners would not only be getting something Knight Rider-themed this Halloween; they would also be receiving something related to the popular Back to the Future franchise.
Late last month, Rivian posted a teaser of a potential Halloween update. The teaser was quite interesting as it featured the iconic lights of K.I.T.T., the hero vehicle from Knight Rider. At the time, speculations were high that Rivian’s theme for this year’s Halloween update would be related to the iconic 80s show.

As it turns out, Rivian is not just doing Knight Rider this Halloween. As per recent posts on the company’s social media accounts and official YouTube channel, Rivian is also teasing something Back to the Future-related. This was highlighted by the plate number of the vehicle in the company's new teaser, as well as the font used by Rivian in its video.
Speculations among members of the Rivian Forums as to the nature of the company’s Back to the Future Halloween update are varied. Some members noted that a software update may be released that includes a cool Back to the Future theme to the R1T and R1S’ infotainment system. Others noted that Rivian may roll out a light show feature for its R1 vehicles, similar what Tesla offers in its electric cars.
Either way, this Halloween seems to be an exciting time for all Rivian owners. This was highlighted by a representative from the company, who informed us that “rest assured, there will be plenty of Halloween fun and surprises for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 (R1T/R1S) owners.”
